Optical Astronomy

Currently the only optical project is a solar flare patrol telescope.

Information to be posted as the telescope is developed.

New plans (January 2002) to build a solar tower for a spectroheliograph are under development.

Tower is planned to be 24 feet tall. This will provide clearance for tracking the sun for most of the day.

Tracking will be accomplished with a coelostat - also under development (mirrors available).
