Solar Observatory
Goals:
Establish solar monitoring station
at elevation 2.2 km (7,200 feet).
Monitor:

Solar image in white and Ha
light

Solar flare patrol

Solar radio flux at 410 Mhz, 610
Mhz, 2.8 Ghz (2 meter dish), and 4.5 Ghz (4 meter dish, "shared use with
other projects")
Project Status:
OPTICAL TELESCOPE STATUS:
4 METER ANTENNA TESTING RESULTS:
- Antenna set up temporarily set up
for LNA testing
- 4 Ghz LNA installed and Heliax cable
run to 4 Ghz receiver.
- Output of receiver monitored with
detector and chart recorder
- Successfully recorded transit of
sun.
- Az-El mount in design stage.
NEW ANTENNA ACQUIRED _ 10 METER DISH!
